Since its inception in 1964, CUPE 932 has supported the community, advocated for public libraries and library workers, stood in solidarity with our union siblings, and celebrated our members.

Within the library, we have done much more than promoting reading and literacy, from sharing knowledge and providing information to creating community and connection, spreading kindness, and building a sense of belonging. Our commitment to our communities has always extended beyond the library’s doors. We have taken part in community events, visited schools and recreation centres, and partnered with community agencies.

Proposed cuts against public libraries have been a constant over the decades, but so has our rally against them. For sixty years, we’ve stood in defence of library jobs and services, both in our community and across the province. We have also shared the front lines with City workers, teachers and educators, and other labour unions. We have worked hard and fought hard and will continue to do so.

We also celebrate. Celebrated the impact we have on our community and beyond, celebrated the strength of our union. As we turn 60, we invite you to join us as CUPE 932 celebrates this milestone anniversary!
